Don't look now but our boy Drew is holding the baby Pens scoreless half-way thru the game.

Too bad for Drew, he gave up a PP goal with 17 seconds left in OT and they lost 3-2. He stopped 30 out of 33 for the game. And now for more bad news for Drew:
Canucks claim Sabourin off waivers 10/04/2006 4:15 PM The Vancouver Canucks announced today that they have claimed goaltender Dany Sabourin off waivers.
Sabourin, 26, won the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Award as the AHL's outstanding goaltender in 2005-06. He played 49 games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, posting a record of 30-14-4, a league-leading goals-against average of 2.26 and a league-leading .922 save percentage.
Sabourin also recorded four shutouts last season and played in the 2006 Rbk Hockey AHL All-Star Classic.
He was named to the AHL’s First All-Star Team and also collected the Harry "Hap" Holmes Award as the Penguins posted the lowest team GAA in the league.
Sabourin has played a career total of five NHL games between the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he played one game last season, and the Calgary Flames.
The 6-foot-4, 200 lbs., native of Val d’Or, Que., was Calgary’s fifth choice, 108th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.

Does this push Wade Flaherty back to the Moose and Drew to their backup?

Probably not, because I doubt Ouellet will be in Vancouver (then again I haven't been keeping up on the transactions so I could be wrong here and please correct me if I am) but it will be Sabourin and whoever they're starter is in Vancouver which would leave Flaherty and Ouellet in Manitoba which, unfortunately, puts Drew back to square one playing where he absolutely hates, the ECHL.

Not so fast grudes, the Manitoba coach was really excited to get Drew so it just might be Oulette or however it is spelt that goes to the ECHL. The Manitoba coach has said he feels it will be Wade and Drew fighting for the starting job in Manitoba.

He definately deserves an AHl job...and besides, it'll be that much more fun beating the Moose...

Question is, what happens if he beats us? Now that's the interesting part of this tale.

Well, you're right there GW, perhaps I did jump to conclusions slightly. I guess I just assumed that Ouellett wouldn't be in the ECHL because he is a very good goaltender and I know both the Canucks and the Moose are very high on him.
LOL...if he beats us then he laughs about it with us after games:) We'll still love him.

It's okay grudes, they are just high on Drew too.
That brings up another funny point, so then the goalie uses those boxing lessons since he's been doin'em for years now and goes toe to toe with Barnzy. Be interesting if the boxer dropped the fighter eh? However, definitely a fight I think we'd all pay good money to see.
