Wow! Canada outshoots the Swiss 49-18 and loses 2-0. The Swiss have also beaten the Czechs, Slovakia beats the Russians. Right now, Finland and Slovakia are the only two perfect records at 2 and 0. And the Czechs play Finland today, although without Dom.
Suddenly, the US tie isn't quite as bad as before. Nothing like the excitement generated by these short tournaments, which magnifies the importance of each game.
It's too bad for the American Women's team that they settle Olympic games with the skills competition. MAN, I HATE ALL SHOOTOUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, at least we don't have to worry about Schneider, Chelios and Draper getting hurt in Italy anymore. Unless it's a bar fight. What a miserable performance by the US and Canadian teams
Just a few quotes that caught my attention:
"We're out of the tournament, but it's not like we have to blow it up and start over," Waddell said.
Umm, you won one out of six games. I think it's time to blow it up.
United States penalties throughout the third period - including a four-minute, high-sticking call against Derian Hatcher , who knocked out two of Teemu Selanne 's teeth and bloodied his mouth - cut off any chance of a comeback. That left Waddell hunched over in his seat and staring at the floor.
There's the Hatch we know. Nice that he waited 'til the third period of a win or else game to lose it and severely hurt his team's comeback chance.
"We know we can beat anybody when we play on our level, and we didn't even have to play that well tonight," Selanne said. (Talking about the US.)
Smug bastard. I wonder how he and his partner Kariya did in the figure skating pairs competition.
Modano was benched for just about the whole third period because, well, because he sucked in Italy. Naturally, he displayed no class and promptly blasted USA Hockey in the post game.
Oh yeah, and Wayne and Wife left in a snit in the Canada/Russia game after the Ruskies sealed it with 23 seconds left. Come on Wayno, you were there to the end in Salt Lake. Behaving like that now, paints you as a sore loser. Either that, or you and the misses had to cover some action with Tocchet.
