Then, in the third period, the 21-year-old took a vicious slash and lost a chunk of his finger. He didn’t return and will need to consult with a surgeon before he can be cleared to play in Detroit’s main camp.
Ooh... that sounds painful.

OMFG! That sounds horrible. Who the hell would do something like that? Aren't they still in the prospect tourny? Wow...I hope he's going to be okay. As Crazy said, that sounds really painful. That had to be one hell of a slash...Wow!

Ahhhh ... He's got to show some toughness!
The San Francisco 49'ers Ronnie Lott had the tip of his finger amputated so he wouldn't miss any games. He broke it and could have had surgery to pin it which would have kept him out for 3 weeks or cut it off and play that weekend. He chose to cut it off!
BE A MAN EVAN! SHOW SOME DEDICATION AND SOME HEART! YOU GOTTA BE TOUGHER THAN THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS!! ;D
Seriously though. I hope it's not severe enough to keep him out for a lengthy period of time. I'm anxious to see how much he's improved over the summer.
