This was on RWW. Is it true? I thought someone said Meech had to clear waivers.
Howard, Grigorenko and defensemen Kyle Quincey (seventh) and Derek Meech (11th) are the prospects on the list closest to playing in the NHL, but all four can go to the AHL without having to clear waivers.

I also think that Meech would need to clear waivers next year.

According to the CBA a player loses waiver immunity three years after signing his first pro contract. That time period is up for Meech. Hopefully they change their minds...

I think that they could find better on the free agent market than Koopmans. I thought he was retiring.
