Continuing the legacy of stupid, excessive, and ill-timed penalties for The Grand Rapids Griffins is non other than #27 himself, (drumroll, please) Adam Keefe!!! Maybe they should permanently retire #27 too! Stay out of the box!!!!!

Yeah, I have to agree Adam was pretty much out of control for most of the game. But I also think it was the first game that he played that way. Hope we don't see it again soon.

Word on the street was the other team was calling him "Gay". If it's that easy to get into his head, then there could be a problem.

You mean I don't have a shot?
But how 'bout #27 this game? He didn't do anything. Did he get an earful from our loud coach?

Adam wasn't the only one who didn't do anything! The guys were doing alright in the first period but after that first goal, they just sort of fell apart. Then again, OCs first goal shouldn't have counted, at least from what I could see. Kinda sad if you ask me, that we can't even beat one of the worst teams in the league.

I say it's time to oust Stothers. Where's the passion, where's the fire? How can a coach who shows nothing expect his team to show something different? Poor defense, poor offense, just terrible passing, same old powerplay, some old penalty kill. Sorry sorry excure for the start of the season at home.

I know it's quite early, though I'm a little concerned about what you said 5'er------ there doesn't seem to be very much passion from Stothers or the majority of players.
And a terrible lacklustre start at home.
Makes me wonder again that a mistake was made with Ireland.

Well, I wonder if coached slept thru the period of the last night's game. What sounded like another solid effort..................for 45-50 minutes, goes down in the L column. Is this just a group of pretty good talent with no chemistry on the ice? Or is it that the players 'like' the coach but he doesn't motivate them? Why isn't Jimmy making the big game saving stop? I know he's not in his prime as a goaltender yet, but I'm not seeing any 'I will win this game' stuff either. Of course, losing streaks always bring out the worst in the best fans, eh?

What is that 8 straight losses. 0-6 at home. Boy, I'm glad I only bought a 10 game package instead of the full 40... I couldn't take 40 games of this.

Well, crazy, it doesn't happen very often but in this case I agree with sj. A ten game package sounds pretty good right now. Although I don't think it will, if this keeps up it's going to be tuff sitting 40 games of the Stothers era in Griffins hockey.

I'm not saying it's fun watching them lose time after time, but win or not, i'm sitting there cheering or sitting at home listening to the game on the radio.
The family of a friend of mine had season tickets two years ago (that amazing team with McLean and McDonell and Filpulla and Hudler...) this year they got a flex pack and the reasoning was "last year it was boring to watch them play." That just irritates me. There is nothing in our season ticket packages that guarantee a winning team. We were LUCKY and privleged to have a team as phenominal as that one and we are also lucky that our team generally competes in the playoffs. How many Griffin teams haven't made it to playoffs? One so far? There are some towns (Springfield comes to mind) where their team is very consistant... consistantly bad. So yes, maybe this years team isn't playing THAT well right now, but win or lose I will support the team.

I think you know I'll be there. I'm just a little depressed right now. This team appears to me to have the talent to be outstanding, just a notch or so be the team you mention above. Hopefully it is just a matter of time that the adjustments are made and the wins start to come.
