Correct, triple. Our entire league is on crack with how the playoffs are set up. The National Conference (those out west) all play best of 7 series. The American Conference (ours), however, plays a best of 3, two best of 5, and two best of 7 series. Here's the bracket (in PDF).

Wow, that sounds to me as if it would be too confusing to keep track of, especially with all those teams. Whats the sense in doing that, why not just have all the teams format the playoff schedules the same way? Seems to be it'd be a lot easier and a lot less confusing.

It is a bit confusing.
Here in ECHL land, they want everyone to make the playoffs. This is actually the first year it was done like this, as they had to reformat the playoffs because we lost two teams to the hurricanes. I would imagine it will go back to something a little more uniform next year.
