Hey, how 'bout our Griffin alumni these last couple of games? Hudler and Filpula with nearly identical spectacular game winners. And Fil's flair for the dramatic with 25 seconds left was absolutely awesome. I accidentally woke up my seven year old, but she went right back to sleep.
Even if our Griffs are stinking up home ice, we sure have been blessed with some excellent Red Wing hockey lately. Ever since the "freak show" in Anaheim, the Wings have been a real treat to watch. The Ruble and Kronas line of Dats, Zetts and Homer has been remarkable. I hope Babcock keeps 'em together now that Franzen is back.
The only downside to Franzen and Drake's return is that now Ellis has to sit. But I gotta believe he is Babcock's guy if any other forward goes down.
I hope there's nothing seriously wrong with Dom but I hope they keep him out for a while longer. There's no reason to rush him back with Osgood playing so well right now. Plus, I'd still like to see Howard get a spot start or two.
Regardless, the Wings and the Griffin alumni have given us a very enjoyable October. Let's hope this translates into an even more enjoyable June.

Hey, how about Meechie? He's turning in some very valuable minutes at the moment -
All in all, we can be very proud of the way "our" guys are performing in the "N"
GEEZ, if only Nik could stay uninjured for awhile -

Remember, we're only 8 games into the season here with basically a new team. Give them 20 games or so to get it together.

Oh, I agree Snickers. To be able to play that well on the road and then drop a turd on home ice is probably due to, as you pointed out, all the new faces and the relatively little time they had together before the season.
I think you're right. Give them time to jell as a team and hopefully we've got something pretty special here. Afterall, the Hockey News thinks so.
Let's hope they put on a good show tonight with "Y" in town.

Let's hope the put on a good show tonight with "Y" in town. I'm just a little confused about something regarding the Griffs ability to adjust to "all the new faces" on the team. Why would it make sense they be able to play well and "gel" on the road, but not at home? It only stands to reason that it would be more difficult to adjust to each other while on the road, (away from the comforts of home) - I'm confident that they will "have it together" and get their first home ice win tonight versus Rochester

I hope you're right about tonight, jacks.
And I'm just guessing about the road attitude that living out of a suitcase, hotel room, bus, whatever, developes more of a team atmosphere and the "us against the world" mentality. Then they come home to their wives, children, girlfriends, harems, and other distractions that take away from the "team only" attitude on the road.
Then again, I may be whistling right out my rectum. If I had the answer, I'd call Stothers.
