OK, the Wings have picked up D Brad Stuart from LA for 2 draft picks. I think it's an alright deal---- except I am very leery of trading for UFA's, who, if not signed by July 1st, become VERY expensive rentals. Overall, the Wings will weather this storm----- the play-offs are still 7 weeks away.

Agreed, Snickers. Hopefully, Stuart pans out and turns into something we do want to resign. We'll have a good test drive for the last 19 games or so, and hopefully a long playoff run. That alone may convince Stuart to stay in Detroit instead of returning to loser LA.
And you're right. I hope he's not just a rental or we waive goodbye to two picks. Granted, Detroit will draft late in the rounds anyway, but never the less, that's two less diamonds in the rough for the Detroit scouts to sign.
And I believe the Wings will be fine, too. Take away your starting goalie, your top four D, and one of your top four forwards who is also a good PP and PK guy, and let's see anyone else weather that storm. When they all comeback healthy, so will the team. And they'll be rested for a deep run.
