I'd feel bad for the guy, if he wasn't an ex-Nordique coach.
Still, after only six games it seems as though last year's SE division champ may be jumping on that panic button a little early.
But, then again, we don't get to see any Atlanta coverage around here (hell, we barely get any Wing coverage) and it's not like Versus is giving us a bunch of "around the league" kind of stuff.
However, when you consider their four game swan song v the Rag$ last April and this oh and six start, I guess the ten game losing streak was too much.
I'm sure he'll end up coaching another NHL team somewhere/sometime.

Unfortunately I really believe this is a prime case of the coach getting canned because they can't do it to the players - I watched the game the other night, and I couldn't believe how many times the Thrashers were just standing still - not moving their feet, taking passes with no forward movement, etc. This is a pretty small team (like the Wings), and like the Wings, if they're not moving and hustling all the time they have the puck, they are gonna get beat. I know the style of play in the SE Division is a lot different than the West - but some things are basic - YOU GOTTA SKATE!! Hartley is a good coach, and will find a job sometime soon. Let's see how the GM handles everyting in the meantime
