Anybody know if the Red Wings are going to have an ECHL affiliate this season, I haven't seen anything about a new deal with a ECHL team.

I haven't heard anything official but my guess is no. Detroit has not really used Toledo latetly other than sending a spare goalie.

Hey ... they did sign Koopmans again!
Maybe he'll be Hasek's towel boy this season? After all, Joey's gone.
Jimmy needs to play, Berkhoel will backup Jimmy and Pelletier will be back in Juniors.
Or ... maybe Berkhoel will be Hasek's towel boy and Koopmans will backup Jimmy? Wow, the suspense is killing me! (yawn)

Not sure if it has been posted here or not but Detroit has signed a secondary affiliation with Flint (IHL) for next year. Should be interesting to see if GR and Muskegon continue their relationship.

I hope GR keeps it's relationship with Muskegon. I don't know what I'd do if we didn't get at least 3 or 4 posts about how we're stealing all their players. I wish the Wings had gone with another ECHL affiliation. The talent level of the ECHL is better than the UHL/IHL/?HL ... whatever the HL they are now. Draper is now a part owner of the Flint Generals and there also is a history between Flint's present management and the Wings brass. Good ol' boy network at it's best. I guess it's not such a big deal. The Wings didn't use Toledo much in the past few seasons except for the occasional conditioning assignment. Brian

How long before Muskegon fan starts complaining about Flint stealing their affiliation?
