I was looking at signings in Europe dating back to the last European season ending and was amazed at all of the familiar names that will be playing in Europe next year (many ex-griffins) from various leagues, NHL, AHL, UHL, ECHL.. I know that every year this happens, but this season the numbers seem even more so. Is there a particular reason that anyone knows of?
Some names that I took note of scrolling through signings (both new signs and re-signs in Europe): Ramzi Abid (Milwaukee), Marc Chouinard (Vancouver), Andy Delmore (Syracuse), Michael Garrnet (Chicago), Lee Gorin (Manitoba), Eric Himelfarb, Greg Jacina (Rochester), Ryan Keller, Todd Robinson, Jeff Nelson, Nick Martens, Donald McLean, Curtis Murphy (Houston), Nate Robinson, Kent McDonell, Brock Radunske, Scooter Smith (Toledo), Yannick Tremblay (Manitoba), Petr Nedved (Edmonton), Richie Regeher (Calgary)...

Crazyforb, I was thinking the very same thing. It is a bit baffling. Perhaps it's a chance at a fresh start? To see Europe? Maybe a chance to hone their game? But why can't they do that over here? I believe they receive a free apartment and free use of a car, but that doesn't explain the obvious pay disparity. I dunno, it's a mystery to me-----
