I dont know... 3 games seems kind of pointless. Instigate a fight, 1 game. Cheap shot someone, 3 games....

That hardly seems justifiable. People have gotten longer suspensions for saying rude comments. LaRose got two match penalties...right there he should be gone for at least five. He could have seriously injured Kyle...3 games hardly justifies the actions LaRose conducted.

I know that Kaser said it was a double match penalty....but the score sheet just shows one..

I'm all for goons, but he should've squared Quincey up and challenged him that way. By the looks of the way that Quincey was playing all night, I'm sure he'd have thrown down. He was chippy all night and took some stupid penalties, but he showed heart and grit and he deserved the chance to fight Larose like a man.
Larose should get more games for being a puss and taking a cheap shot.

According to the reports, it was an earlier scuffle in the game with Kyle that set LaRose off. LaRose isn't even a goon...he's had something like six penaly minutes all season or something.
Thanks coyote, I swore I saw the sheet say two but I could very well have been wrong...long weekend.

You're right, glisteningwings. Larose is not a goon. He's averaged about one penalty minute per game throughout his career. I should've said, "I'm all for guys acting like goons..."

That's the largest load of bull i've heard in a while. If a "scuffle" earlier "set him off", than he should have dealt with it then and just said "let's fight." There is no excuse for what he did. He was a pussy with a temper, plain and simple. There is a difference between a fighter and a goon. The dictionary definition of a goon that I found is "a thug hired to intimidate or harm opponents". IMO, what he did on the ice Friday night makes him a goon. His team had lost and his sole purpose was to cause harm to Kyle. I don't care what his prior history was - Larose is a goon in my book.

I agree Crazy, his actions warrant goon status for sure. I also agree that they should have dealt with it then instead of having a Todd Bertuzzi moment later on in the game. There was no justification for what LaRose did and three games is hardly punishment for a play that could have seriously injured Kyle. Thank god it didn't...

Yup, crazyforb, I agree. An attempt to injure someone merits only 3 games? That should be the joke of the month.
