JP will more than likely be back as the assistant coach next season, most of the reports I've read have him back as the asst coach. However, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Wings end up asking him to take over the coaching reigns next season.

Booter does have talent believe me...he just seems to have lost the fire and intensity he had as a jr

Nail on the head, Titleist. IMO, the only way you explain some of the garden variety brain dead penalties (think slash in last year's playoffs) he's taken recently is due to a lack of focus. He didn't seem to have that same drive as early on in his GR days.
I'm guessing the Wings will bail on him, but someone else may offer him a contract. If not, I hope BM signs him to a GR contract because I do enjoy watching him play, when he plays. After all, hockey is an entertainment package and when Booter wants to play, he's as entertaining as anyone else in this town.

I love it. Mr. Bootland gets trashed on this board more than most any player ever to wear the Griffin uniform, yet 9 out of 10 would tell you they want him back. With these kinds of fan, who needs an enemy!

...but he did have trouble in pushing the right buttons to motivate talents like Booter and Hemilfarb seems to me like ALOT of people have trouble motivating talents like Booter. Maybe I should explain my post, since it seems some people might think I'm trashing bootland. I was trying to say that it seems like the only person that really gets Bootland fired up, is Bootland. When he comes out and wants to play some hockey, he does. But other games he comes out flat, and stays that way. He psyches himself up, and psyches himself out. That is all I was getting at.

Now it's all falling into place!!
Boston wants to be more grittier ...
Rumor has it that the Bruins are going to trade Glenn Murray to Minnesota for Manny Fernandez.
Glenn Murray wears #27.
BOOTER WILL BE IN A BRUINS UNIFORM WEARING #27!!!!!!

In addition to DB's need to refocus and up the intensity, he also needs to seriously work on his skating. I like what he can bring to the Griffins, but he is an average skater, at best.

OK, given Bootland is a better player than any of us on this board, but he is not a NHL talent. His skating is like watching a garbage truck on ice. He does has good hand-to-eye coordination. Like many have said, he appears to lack focus. Maybe he'll be a third or fourth liner on some team, but he's done as a RW. JMO

I must be that 10th person then, cuz I, for one would be happy NOT to see Booter back in a Griffins or Wings jersey...though I would much rather have Booter then Bertuzzi
